CeeTox had an opportunity to work with Cytorex’s proprietary compound Cytoreg®, a great innovation in the fight against cancer. The testing performed by CeeTox, in rat hepatoma (liver cancer), normal hepatocytes (liver), and normal kidney cells, indicated a distinctive cytotoxic activity of Cytoreg® in cancer cells. The CeeTox results were included in the preclinical data package evaluated by the National Cancer Institute, and allowed Cytorex to reach a collaboration agreement with the NCI, to develop the Cytoreg® program as a potential treatment for glioblastoma multiforme (brain cancer).

Argutus Medical Ltd. was formed in July 2008 as a spin out company from Biotrin Internation Ltd to give enhanced focus to expanding its portfolio of test kits. Argutus Medical is a world leader in developing and manufacturing novel organ injury tests for use in the detection of early, acute damage to the kidney, liver and pancreas. These eay-to-use microtitre plate assay kits have particular use in preclinical pharmaceutical R&D, Human phase I, II and III clinical trials, and hospital diagnostics. CeeTox is a preferred reference laboratory for Argutus’ novel acute kidney injury (AKI) biomarker panel.

President Benjamin Tanner holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arizona, where he studied infectious disease transmission with Dr. Charles Gerba. Dr. Tanner is the author of the book “Legal Aspects of Infectious Diseases.” He has worked extensively with industry, academia, and government. Before launching Antimicrobial Test Labs in 2006, Dr. Tanner enjoyed years as a microbiologist with the Clorox Company.
